Locations Trainee
As a Location Trainee, I helped influence the visual identity of a short film.
Under the guidance and leadership of the Locations Manager and Co-Ordinator, I got involved with It’s My Shout production by going out around Wales and using online materials to source and help secure possible filming locations. For example, I helped source a house with specific requirements. The key objective was to find a house in which to shoot the majority of the film. It had to include a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, hallway and enough space to hold the crew behind the camera.
Here are the proposed locations for the film.
Once filming locations had been secured, I helped manage the locations on set. Here, I worked as part of the Locations Team to ensure the cleanliness of the set and to ensure that the safety of those working on it was maintained throughout the filming day.
I also attended the recce before filming. Here, I conducted a site survey to determine technical aspects, lighting, sound, logistics and anything else that the shoot required to ensure there weren’t any glitches.
